Amaury Logette

Amaury Logette is a Kelowna-based student who enjoys both the arts and athletics. He plays drums with the Okanagan Mission Secondary School Grade 11 Big Band and his own jazz combo, bringing energy and creativity to every performance. Outside of music, Amaury spends time mountain biking, skiing, and competing in track at the national level. His interest in theatre includes working behind the scenes with sound and lighting, where he helps set up, program, and run cues.

Amaury’s experience in theatre has given him opportunities to work with both audio and lighting, ensuring productions run smoothly and with care. He approaches each project with attention to detail, respecting the work of others and the story being told. Open-mindedness guides him in learning from every rehearsal and performance, whether it’s a new technical skill or a fresh perspective from collaborators. These experiences have shaped his belief that theatre is not only about technology or performance, but about people working together to create something meaningful.

Amaury believes that being open about mental health is essential in breaking stigma and creating supportive communities. He has often been someone friends and peers turn to during difficult times, offering understanding and encouragement through periods of depression, anxiety, and other challenges. In Kelowna, he has noticed a lack of dedicated groups focused on youth mental health, and he hopes to shine light on this gap and spark change. For him, theatre, music, and athletics are not only creative outlets but also spaces where people can feel safe to share what’s on their minds. Amaury hopes to continue being someone others can rely on, fostering conversations that help build resilience and compassion among youth.
