Emma Bigelow
Emma Bigelow is a Grade 10 student with a strong passion for the arts, leadership, and community involvement. As an experienced dancer with 13 years of training, she developed skills such as discipline, creativity, commitment, and an appreciation for the arts. Her experience in dance eventually led her to stage management for OKM theatre productions, where she learned to love the behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre. Through working as a stage manager, Emma gained significant experience in leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving. She values theatre because it is a space where everyone can express themselves freely and openly. Emma believes the arts can make anyone feel seen, supported, and connected.
Emma is also passionate about supporting youth mental health and encouraging open conversations within schools and communities. She believes every child deserves access to safe, supportive environments where they feel comfortable speaking up and seeking help when needed. Through her involvement in theatre and the arts, Emma has witnessed how creativity, teamwork, and inclusion at The Fifth Wall: Theatre Company can positively impact emotional well-being and help individuals feel seen and supported. She recognizes the growing importance of mental health awareness among youth and hopes to contribute to more accepting and understanding communities.
As she continues to expand her experience in both the arts and advocacy, Emma wants to encourage others to use their voices and talents to make a positive difference. She is committed to promoting inclusivity, empathy, and mental health awareness while continuing to grow as a leader in her community. With dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm, Emma looks forward to pursuing opportunities that strengthen both the arts and youth support initiatives.
